Race teams often race for little or no cash reward. Therefore, sponsors can help to relieve the financial burden. Teams need donations of cash to pay expenses for travel, entry fees, etc. They can also use donations of tires, fuel, mechanical services or even gift cards to buy lunch for the crew.

Benefits to the sponsor vary by race team, but general include a logo on the race kart and may also include things like an ad on the team trailor and/or an ad on the teams personal web site.
